Where Children and Horses Come Together In a Special way

Our Mission

The purpose and mission of Willow Ridge Therapeutic Riding Facility is to provide assisted therapy for higher functioning children with special needs. Therapeutic riding not only aids in muscle development, balance, and eye-hand coordination, but also provides emotional and educational therapy. Our goal is to teach skills that bolster self-confidence and self-discipline in a recreational setting that also teaches care and respect for animals.

The education of the children and the positive effects on their self-image will make them less likely to become victims of cruelty and their experiences with horses will make them a positive force for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

The operational goal is to be able to provide the opportunity to children regardless of their economic backgrounds. This activity directly addresses the purpose of Willow Ridge to provide charitable and educational opportunities and prevent cruelty to both children and animals.
